Species Identification
Using DNA‐based analyses we can determine the identity of wildlife samples submitted for analysis. In this analysis, DNA is extracted from the sample of interest and amplified across a region of DNA which is highly conserved within species but variable between species. Once amplified, the DNA sequence of this region is compared to those in a database to determine its identity. Species identification has been successfully performed from a range of different samples types.
